How Bodylab achieved an efficient workflow and fast translations
About Bodylab
Since 2001, Bodylab has been a market-leading developer and producer of protein powder and other high-protein supplements. Bodylab also offers a lifestyle universe for people who are interested in exercising and living a healthy life and on its website you can find everything from inspiring articles, recipes and videos to interviews about healthy diet and exercising.
The job
Bodylab was not happy with their existing translation process and agency, and was therefore looking for a new partner.
They had several challenges with their provider.
Firstly, the translation workflow did not run smoothly. Everything had to be done by e-mail, which made it difficult to get an overview and follow the status of the different jobs. Stefan from Bodylab had to spend too much time going through old e-mails to check which jobs had been started, how they were progressing and which jobs had been delivered.
Secondly, the deadlines often exceeded Stefan’s own deadlines. And, last but not least, it was difficult for him to assess whether they got any real value for their money.
Bodylab was therefore looking for a partner specialising in translation and able to meet all their needs for transparency, smooth processes and fast delivery.
At the same time, a new partner had to be willing to give the same priority to Bodylab’s often small translation jobs as to other customers’ large jobs.
The solution
We created a team of dedicated translators who would be able to take jobs from Bodylab at short notice and make sure that we would be able to meet the deadlines, which were often very tight.
We also created a fully transparent price structure with a fixed price per word for pure translation and a fixed price per word for creative translation, which includes editing and text improvement by a copywriter after translation.
Bodylab uses our SmartDesk customer portal to send and receive jobs, which means that Stefan has a complete overview of active and delivered jobs and can see the status of each job on the portal. Ordering new jobs via SmartDesk has now also been made easier.
The result
Stefan got what he wanted: an efficient workflow, delivery within tight deadlines and transparent, reasonable prices.
