AdHoc Translations is proud to support Translators without Borders in their mission to make knowledge and language accessible to all.
Their humanitarian work with language and translation in areas of crisis is a great source of inspiration to us, both personally and professionally.
They engage in humanitarian development projects around the world to raise awareness about translation, so that people in crisis areas can access vital knowledge and documents in their own language.
We are proud to be part of a large community that helps break down language barriers and ensures vital information is given to those in need.
In collaboration with their partners and support received from sponsors, funders and volunteers, Translators without Borders has in the past year been able to respond to the European refugee crisis, the hurricanes that ravaged the Caribbean, and the Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh among other emergencies, by providing vital information to affected communities in a language they can understand.
“We have chosen to sponsor Translators without Borders since we truly believe that the organization makes a difference in the World. When a crises hits, the demolition of language barriers can help safe lives. By supporting the work to break down language barriers to help people understand what is required in terms of promoting health and ensuring treatment, we make a real difference for those in need” – Global sales director Jesper Nielsen.
In 2017, Translators without Borders reached a major milestone of 50 million translated words since 2011.
They have achieved this milestone by translating for non-profit organizations that work in health care, crisis response and education programs.
They have also managed to reach more people by growing and strengthening their partnerships and by expanding their community of translators.
Don’t miss to see their really nice and visual annual report that gives you a clear overview of their achievements.
AdHoc Translations is proud and honoured to support a great cause within the language industry, indeed proving that language matters.
